This building is going through a slow Metamorphosis. It used to function as a cotton gin in the small southern town in which I grew up. Now it sits abandoned, rusting away with a “no trespass” warning designed to keep everyone out but the curious photographer. I spent some time exploring this building, capturing a little history before it’s too late. It became even more significant to me when I later learned that my grandfather once worked there. Yesterday, this image was chosen by Light and Composition Magazine as Photo of The Day.
