My Fun Haven

Larkspur, Colorado is a small town situated between the larger cities of Castle Rock (just south of Denver) and Monument (just north of Colorado Springs). Having moved here almost a year ago, I’m discovering that it’s a haven of physical activities.

One month ago, it began with the Greenland 50K Run  , a scenic trail race with great views of Pikes Peak.

This past weekend, there were several more endurance events. First up was the Erock Sunrise to Sunset Mountain Bike Relay Race in the Greenland Open Space. Saturday and Sunday featured the Insanity Mud Run, a 5 or 10 mile run with lots of obstacles.

Sunday also featured the Elephant Rock Cycling Festival . This actually begins and ends in Castle Rock but a major portion of the 100 and 62 mile bike tour passes through the Larkspur area.

I had a blast photographing three of these events with plans to participate in the future. Below are links to the events (the link function on wordpress isn’t working for me currently, so if you have any tips please leave me a comment)

  2. With such incredible views around, I won’t mind participating in any of these events 🙂
I just loved the first image, beautiful composition with the trail and the runner at the right side and the snow capped mountain at the top left.
